Nirodha-Samapatti

Nirodha-Samapatti is a Sanskrit term that is used in the practice of yoga to refer to a state of complete stillness and cessation of mental activity. It is the highest state of meditation, in which the practitioner experiences complete absorption and union with the divine.

The term "nirodha" means "cessation" or "extinction," while "samapatti" means "attainment" or "merging." Together, these two words describe the state of consciousness in which the mind has been completely stilled and absorbed into a state of pure awareness, free from the distractions and fluctuations of ordinary mental activity.

In the practice of yoga, nirodha-samapatti is achieved through the practice of concentration, meditation, and other yogic techniques. It is considered to be the ultimate goal of yoga, and is said to lead to liberation from the cycle of birth and death, and the attainment of enlightenment.

Nirodha-samapatti is often described as a state of pure consciousness, in which the individual has merged with the divine, and experiences a sense of oneness with all things. It is a state of profound peace and stillness, in which the individual has transcended the limitations of the ego, and has accessed a deeper level of awareness and understanding.
