The Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis

The Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC) is a worldwide mystical and philosophical organization that traces its roots back to the early 20th century. Founded by Harvey Spencer Lewis in 1915, AMORC is dedicated to the study and exploration of esoteric knowledge, mystical teachings, and the ancient mysteries.

Harvey Spencer Lewis: Born on November 25, 1883, in Frenchtown, New Jersey, Harvey Spencer Lewis was a Rosicrucian scholar and occultist. Inspired by his interest in mysticism and metaphysics, Lewis traveled to France in 1909, where he claimed to have encountered a secret Rosicrucian order.

The Rosicrucian Order in France: Upon returning to the United States, Lewis established the Rosicrucian Order in America in 1915, based on the teachings he had received in France. The organization later evolved into the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (AMORC).

The Philosophy of AMORC: AMORC's teachings draw inspiration from various esoteric traditions, including Rosicrucianism, Hermeticism, and ancient Egyptian mysticism. The organization emphasizes the pursuit of spiritual knowledge, self-discovery, and the understanding of universal laws.

The AMORC Rosicrucian System: AMORC follows a structured system of study that is divided into several degrees, each representing a different level of spiritual and mystical insight. Initiates progress through these degrees, gradually gaining access to deeper esoteric teachings and practices.

Global Expansion: Under Lewis's leadership, AMORC expanded rapidly, establishing lodges and study groups in various countries around the world. The organization aimed to foster a global community of individuals dedicated to personal and spiritual growth.

The Rosicrucian Park: In 1927, AMORC acquired the land in San Jose, California, where it established the Rosicrucian Park. This park houses the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, the Rosicrucian Planetarium, and the Rosicrucian Peace Garden, serving as a center for spiritual and cultural exploration.

Leadership and Evolution: After Lewis's passing in 1939, his son Ralph Maxwell Lewis succeeded him as the Imperator of AMORC. Under Ralph's leadership, AMORC continued to grow, adapting to the changing times while preserving its core mystical teachings.

Today, AMORC remains a thriving organization with lodges and study groups in multiple countries, providing a platform for seekers of wisdom to explore the mysteries of life, the universe, and the human spirit. Its legacy continues to inspire individuals to delve into the depths of esoteric knowledge and spiritual growth.
